The talks about a potential return of the series have been chasing each other cyclically for some years now; however, according to what has emerged in the last few hours, Fremantle he would put the project actively into development. .Created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory J. Bonann, the original series it centered on the day-to-day life of a group of lifeguards patrolling the beaches of Los Angeles County. In addition to David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, the show has had among its most famous faces David Charvet, Yasmine Bleeth, Nicole Eggert, Alexandra Paul, Gena Lee Nolin, David Chokachi, Micheal Newman, Jason Momoa and Carmen Electra.
Originally produced for NBC, the broadcaster then decided to cancel the show after just one season. However, the manufacturers of Baywatch
they bought back the rights and produced a new version of the show with the support of All American Television and with the financial backing of the German distributor Beta Taurus.The show aired for a total of 11 seasons, resulting in a sci-fi thriller spin-off series entitled Baywatch Nights. The regular series concludes in 2003 with the TV movie Baywatch – Wedding in Hawaii, which brings together most of the historical cast. In 2017, however, the film of the same name which sees the historic television characters interpreted by the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach.
