Zoe Saldana entered the MCU with Guardians of the Galaxy with other newcomers to the franchise including Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan and Dave Bautista. Saldana was particularly impressed with Bautista, who had just left WWE and had no previous acting experience.

Being a wrestler, Saldana thought that in the film he would just be a huge strongman beating people up. But she was so surprised to see his subtle and natural approach to portraying his character Drax.

She told Movies.IE

“You’d think that because he’s so big and comes from the wrestling world that his acting would appeal to a big, stomping giant, but he’s actually so subtle and natural, and James was just explaining the scene to Dave and Dave was like, ‘Oh, okay. , I get it,” and it was like he was picking a direction one day, and the next take he had it right. And I just thought, “Oh my God, he’s so natural at this and he has such love and passion for it.”

Bautista’s funny yet memorable portrayal of Drax won people’s hearts and minds and he became a fan favorite in the MCU. He even spoke many times about how the role changed his life and portrayed the character for over a decade, recently ending Guardians of the Galaxy Part 3.

Zoe Saldana’s Gamora had a bittersweet ending surrounding her relationship with Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord over the Guardians trilogy and the final two. Avengers movies. The third film didn’t rekindle or force a new romance between Quill and the new Gamora, which Saldana greatly appreciated. She told The Hollywood Reporter that a bittersweet ending was the right way to end the film:

“Obviously it was a bittersweet decision. I wanted to know that in the final chapter, Gamora would stay and find a way to become a Guardian again in the future. But it seemed like the right way to end things, considering what she’d been through. At the end of the day, no matter what multiverse she comes from, she will still have the same experience with Thanos, and she will still have the same guilt and the same trauma.

So she finally found solace among the Ravagers and felt more open than ever. I think the whole Peter thing bothered her because even though she didn’t remember who he was, she had a feeling it had to be something special. And I appreciated that conclusion because it kind of gave us hope that if the Guardians turn to the Ravagers for help again, maybe Gamora and Peter will find a way to get back into each other’s lives, even if it’s just friends.”

Saldana also recently appeared in Taylor Sheridan’s film. Special Forces: Lioness. The series received positive reviews from critics and viewers. There is hope that the series will receive a second season. It remains to be seen whether Paramount+ will renew the series for a second season.
