Production began in early June in New Jersey, but filming would resume after the writers’ strike ended. Looks like 5 episodes have been completed.
In Before, Crystal plays Eli, a child psychiatrist who recently lost his wife when he meets a troubled boy. Crystal is also executive producing the series, with Sarah Thorpe writing and Adam Bernstein directing the pilot. Crystal, Thorpe, Bernstein, Jett Wilkinson and Eric Roth are executive producers.
Crystal is no stranger to the world of television series, having previously starred in FX’s The Comedians and ABC’s Soaps. Crystal and Levinson worked together as executive producers on the 2002 film Analyze That, which starred Crystal and Robert De Niro.
This is the latest of the shows to cease production for the duration of the strike. Most of the affected series, including Daredevil and The Penguin, were filming on the East Coast, where WGA East protesters are protesting the sets.
