Berenguer joins the squad, Raúl Garcia is out and Yare could miss all of August

After a day off yesterday, the Athletic Club resumed training at the Lezama facility this Wednesday morning. Roy Blanco continues to prepare for next Saturday’s match against Real Madrid in what amounts to the first round of the league fixture at the San Mames stadium.

Ernesto Valverde could count on Alex Berenguer’s presence in the squad today, as he has clearly recovered from the back discomfort he suffered from missing training during the final stretch of pre-season. However, the coach from Extremadura is not counting on Raúl Garcia, who is suffering from gastroenteritis, or Nico Serrano, who is about to leave for Zwolle. Additionally, Yuri, Danny Garcia and Yere continue their rehabilitation process. The central defender has a complex muscular problem with his adductor muscles, which in principle is a problem of overload. He had to have plasma injections and plans to miss the rest of August, even though he’s been running.
