From 14 July the new single from Rome-based young Latina singer-songwriter Nelly is available on all digital platforms (distribution ADA Music) and on Radio Berlin. The song comes after a year that has been many “roller coasters” for Nelly: new appearances, awards and partnerships. 2022 saw the victory of the Radio Sonika contest and participation in Spaghetti Unplugged x Dargon D’Amico and finally ended with the opening of the Rocco Hunt concert in Latina. Berlin with evocative pop-electronic rhythms paves the way for Nelly’s debut EP to be released in September 2023.

“I was in the studio with Gianmarco and Federica a few months ago. It was raining and writing seemed the most exhilarating thing to do. Also because giving birth to a song isn’t necessarily an appointment. Maybe that’s why I like it. Berlin was born out of a cinematic frame, one of those where you think: ‘I’d like to write about that’. It’s a nostalgia trip made up of clear or disjointed memories and details. Everyone can read something different into it, like a movie.” – Nellie.

“I’m Ileana aka Nelly, like many other better people, I was born and raised in Latina. Rome has adopted me since I was 18 and I can never thank it enough for everything it has given me, from music to music.”

Nelly is Aliana, a 97-born singer-songwriter who grew up in Latina, a lucky place for artists. At the age of 18 he felt the need for a change of scenery and moved to Rome, a city that, among thousands of nuances and influences, gave birth to the “Nelly” project.
Music has always been a part of him. He started playing guitar at the age of 11, but never gave it up. The encounter with singing was born out of necessity, but one is not determined by the other.
A variety of stylistic influences, without contradiction: from Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, Khalid, Jozi, Alyssa, Tom Odell to greats like Dalla, Baglioni, Battiato and Mina.
2022 saw Nelly win the Radio Sonika contest and culminated with participation in Spaghetti Unplugged x Dargon D’Amico and finally opening for the Rocco Hunt concert in Latina.
The first EP is expected to be released in September 2023.
