Toronto 2023 announced the first films scheduled for the 48th release and between world premieres there is Dumb Money by Craig Gillespie, Diseases of Pain starring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans and Lee starring Kate Winslet directed by Ellen Kuras.
The organizers said that none of the selected films were withdrawn from the event due to the strike of the actors, which could prevent the stars belonging to the SAG-AFTR from promoting various projects.
So among the premieres at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival will be “Dumb Money”, with Gillespie telling the story of GameStop’s action and featuring Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Pete Davidson, Anthony Ramos, Shailene Woodley, Sebastian Stan and America. Ferrera.
Among the most anticipated games are also Pain Hustlers, Reptile with Alicia Silverstone and Benicio del Toro; Rustin, starring Chris Rock and Colman Domingo, which retells the story of gay civil rights activist Bayard Rustin; NYAD, featuring Annette Bening, Jodie Foster and Rhys Infance, and the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida; American fiction starring Adam Brody and Issa Rae about writer Thelonious “Monk” Ellison; and the apocalyptic The End We Begin, starring Jodie Comer, Katherine Waterston and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Titles announced also include Chris Pine’s directorial debut, Tony Goldwyn’s debut, Viggo Mortenson’s debut, and Michael Keaton’s Knox Goes Away.
