Beyoncé superfan attends Medieval Renaissance fair by mistake: ‘I wore a uniform and everything’

It was an easy change for the woman who headed to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival in search of “Renaissance,” Beyoncé’s silver tour.

TikTok user Megan Strickland posted a video of her experience at the Renaissance Festival, a fair that recreates a historical setting typically mimicking the 16th-century English Renaissance, in pursuit of the queen of “single ladies.”

Instead of finding the Queen of Pop, Strickland found another royal parading around the open space.

“I put on my uniform and everything, but I still couldn’t find Beyoncé!!” Strickland wrote a cheeky caption for her video. The post went viral, receiving nearly 200,000 likes and nearly 800,000 views three days after she posted it.

Strickland wore a black cowboy hat adorned with silver rhinestone tassels, silver-lined sunglasses, a silver jacket, and black leather pants. In contrast, other participants at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival wore costumes from the 16th century period.

Social media posts indicate that Strickland saw Beyoncé at her Oct. 1 show in Kansas City and was apparently keen to continue the Renaissance vibe by heading to an unrelated medieval festival just two weeks later.

“You tried it,” one user commented under her TikTok video.

Others called Strickland iconic for taking her Beyoncé outfit to the festival and praised her intelligence.

“I so hope someone liked this link because I’ll still be on the floor Chili,” another user wrote.

It appears that Strickland was not the first to confuse the two events.

“But what’s funny is, at the concert, the people sitting three rows in front of me were wearing Ren costumes. It was fun!” another user wrote.

Strickland definitely got the joke.
