Fans were heartbroken to see that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was delayed indefinitely a few weeks ago. Now, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have given us an update on the end of the Miles Morales animated trilogy.
Speaking to Digital Spy while promoting their new film The Strays, the producers and writers of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse were unable to give us a new date to expect. Instead, when asked for an update, Lord said: “Fortunately, these conversations are more than our salary, but I can tell you that we are already working hard on this and will take the time to make it great.”
Miller then added: “What we’re trying to achieve with the film is make it a more satisfying conclusion to the story than it otherwise might have been, and take it to places you’ve never been before. And make you laugh and cry, rejoice and think.”
Following reports of animators being overworked on the last film, we hope this gives them time to create a great film while maintaining a work-life balance. It may seem too good to be true. After all, we are talking about Hollywood.
