Billie Eilish shares advice for women and aspiring musicians

Billie Eilish has shared some advice for women and aspiring artists, telling them they “don’t have to be exceptional” all the time.

The 21-year-old opened up about her early career in a new interview, recalling how she and her brother Finneas would “make these little songs” as teenagers and try to be as different as possible.

Eilish emphasized that while the siblings had a clear mission to not “do what anyone says,” it’s normal for people to not have everything planned out the way they did.

“I have to give credit to the person I’ve always been – I didn’t give a damn at all,” she said. Charm. “I had to convince a room full of people for many, many years that I was going to do what I knew was right for me. I had ideas; I had plans.

“But the thing is, people need to know—women need to know—you don’t have to be exceptional,” she countered. “You can just be human and you should get rewards just for being you. Sometimes artists don’t have a plan, and that’s okay, but I had one and I wasn’t going to waste it.”

The famous pop star also shared that she still struggles with fame and worldwide fame. “I’m getting better, but to be honest, I’m not doing that great… I feel like I’m going to die most of the day,” Eilish explained. “When I think about it too much, about how I’ll never have privacy again, it’s enough to make you want to do all sorts of crazy things. But you have to let it go.”

Elsewhere, the Grammy Award winner also recalled how “What Was I Made For?” – her popular contribution to the highly acclaimed Barbie soundtrack – appeared. “It’s like this song has been a tiny creature inside me for years, scratching me from the inside,” she said. “As soon as we got that clue, the creature said, ‘Okay, I’m leaving,’ and we wrote that song in an hour or two.”

She continued: “We wrote this during a period of time where we couldn’t be less inspired and less creative. We were doing something that day and we thought, “We’ve lost this.” Why are we even doing this?

In other news, Eilish hinted that there is a “whole music album coming out soon.” While talking with PicnicShe said she’s “in the final stages of production,” but that doesn’t mean the music is “just about to come out.”

The highly anticipated album will serve as a follow-up to her 2021 album “Happier Than Ever.” In a five star review NME called the record “fully establishing Billie Eilish as one of the most significant pop artists of her generation—and, better yet, doing so without repeating a single trick from the debut that turned her life upside down.”
