Recently, former footballer Gary Lineker shared an interesting story with listeners on the latest episode of the All That’s Left Is Football podcast.

The sportscaster once had the opportunity to compete against Jordan and his friend Samuel L. Jackson. Although Jordan enjoys betting on certain sports such as golf, he remains competitive in his quest to win. This time, however, the six-time NBA champion’s chances are slim.

Gary Lineker recalls a scene from “over twenty years ago”. Michael Jordan was in the latter stages of his career but found himself in Sunningdale where he played golf with famous actors Samuel L. Jackson, Lineker and a few other companions. As a member of the club, Lineker decided to receive guests. But he needed another member to handle the extra guests, so he invited his friend Michael King, a former professional golfer.

However, as Lineker recalled, King liked to bet and he met his match in Jordan. When he asked MJ if he would put money into the game, the answer was yes. Lineker revealed the interaction. “SW, HHow much do you want to play? ,Kim asked. The Chicago Bulls legend replied: “whatever makes you uncomfortable“.

Gary Lineker insists this is his Michael Jordan moment. The football legend will lose around £100 on the bet. But the story isn’t over yet. Apparently, King and Jordan had their own bets on a game. The former professional golfer later revealed to Lineker that he “Scammed him (Jordan) out of thousands of dollars. ”

“”Well, I (King) said to him, I said, Mr. Jordan,” and he said, “In this country, when we play for money, we do tend to pay down debt. Lineker added, “He said he (Jordan) went to the car and he said his driver had brought over £2,000.“

Well, it wasn’t a wise decision for the billionaire as he lost far more bets than he won. But of course, Mike was well aware of the risks. It’s part of the competitive spirit he inspires.

Jordan once bet his Ferrari on penalty kicks

Of course, for the only athlete to crack the Forbes 400, £100 or even £2,000 is pocket change. Furthermore, considering the huge amount of money Jordan lost betting on golf, there may be some truth to King’s claims.

This story is familiar to many. Michael Jordan once famously bet his Ferrari against Jamal Crawford. Many sources even corroborated the story. Crawford initially challenged Jordan for $1,000 in a three-point shootout, which Jordan won. Undeterred, Crawford raised the prize to $5,000 and won. This may have prompted Jordan to propose a car bet.
