Bird flu case detected in Salta

The National Agri-Food Hygiene and Quality Service (Senasa) reported today a case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) H5 in backyard birds in the town of Rio Piedras, Metan province, Salta province.

Based on the outbreaks detected, and through coordinated work with provincial and municipal authorities, Senasa said that the tasks set out in the current procedures for handling outbreaks in free-range poultry approved by the National Animal Health Agency are already being carried out. biology.

Of the 555 notifications analyzed to date since the beginning of the health emergency (February 15), 95% of the disease outbreaks nationwide have ended.

The confirmed cases to date are from backyard birds (76: 75 closed, 1 active), commercial sector (18: 12 closed, 6 active) and wild (7, all closed).

They are distributed as follows: 24 in Buenos Aires, 21 in Córdoba, 12 in Neuquen, 9 in Santa Fe, 7 in Rionegro and Chubut, 4 in Chaco , 3 in Formosa, 2 in the province of Entre Ríos, San Luis, La Pampa, Corrientes, Santa Cruz and Jujuy, Santiago del Estero, Salta and Puerto Dosa each one.
