SENASA confirmed the death of sea lions in Cape Domingo. The emergence of bird flu has killed hundreds of marine animals in less than a month. It has also caused the death of hundreds of guanacos in Santa Cruz Province, including Infected animals, such as gulls, caracalla, which affect all fauna, not just coastal Patagonia.
In Tierra del Fuego, the health chiefs have no answers because they say they have no right to speak, while in other provinces they see the situation almost as an uncontrollable epidemic.
Neither the Ministry of Health, nor the SENASA or INTA authorities, nor the bodies empowered to discuss the issue, have issued a statement or what steps should be taken in the event of possible transmission to humans through pets,
Potentially infected animals include foxes and skunks; farm mink; animal Stray or domestic cats and dogs, sea lions, guanacos, pets, seagulls, caracalla and sailors of all species, human cases have been reported in Punta Arenas, Chile.
