Blackpink’s Lisa appointed as Thailand’s cultural ambassador

Singer Lisa will receive the Cultural Ambassador Award from the Thai Minister of Culture.

Lalisa Manoban, nicknamed “Lisa”, is a Thai singer who became an international celebrity as a member of the K-pop group Blackpink.

The young artist, who hails from Buri Rama in northeastern Thailand (Issan), features on the Culture Minister’s best wishes list announced on September 28.

On Tuesday, October 3, a ceremony will be held at the Thai Cultural Center to present Lisa with the honorary Wattanakunathorn (ambassador of culture) award to mark the founding of the Minister of Culture, the source said.

Lisa is just finishing a series of performances at the famous Parisian cabaret Crazy Horse.

The award aims to recognize Lisa’s role as a driving force in promoting Thailand in the world through soft power to add value to the economy.

This year, the Minister of Culture is presenting 226 Wattanakunathorn Awards to people, young people and many young people who are involved in promoting Thai cultural resources.

Culture Minister Sermsak Pongpanich also said Lisa will succeed in creating trends among Thai fans and foreigners to use soft power to add value to the economy and local products.

Thailand now uses celebrity visits to the country to bring them on stage, sell products and attract fans.

Lisa also wears traditional golden hair, which encourages many fans to imitate her and join the complement of teams online.

Lisa was also introduced to the international shopping bag trade on the streets of Buri Ram.
