Blood donation, comprehensive health camp held
Imphal, October 12
Manipur AIDS Control Society Project Director Haobam Rosita launched the two-day Integrated Health Camp (IHC) at the RDO complex in Lamshang on Thursday.
The camp is organized by the Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) in collaboration with the Health Department, NHM, AYUSH, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, National Viral Hepatitis Program and Imphal West District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee, MSACS said in a release Cooperative organizations.
During the camp, extended outreach activities were conducted at Maklang, Salam, Patsoi Part 3, Phayeng, Khurkhul and Sekmai under Haorang Sabal block.
In addition to general health examinations, HIV and syphilis screening, STD/AIDS screening and treatment, tuberculosis screening, hepatitis B and C screening, and hepatitis B vaccination are performed.
A total of 180 people (106 men and 74 women) benefited from the health camp.
Similar camps will also be held in Sawombung, Keirao Bitra and Wangoi blocks covering 14 villages.
Besides, the LMS Law Students’ Union also organized a one-day blood donation camp at the blood transfusion department of RIMS, Imphal on Thursday.
The alliance said in a press release that the blood donation camp was held to pay tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives for the motherland and to help those injured in the ongoing conflict.
The alliance also called on the central and state governments to work together to find a lasting solution and restore peace and normalcy in Manipur at the earliest.
