Brad Pitt bought the studio where Pink Floyd recorded The Wall

The south of France is home, at least one of many, for Brad Pitt who about fifteen years ago bought a sumptuous estate that he enjoyed with Angelina Jolie until a brutal divorce. But it remains a place of the soul for him, as evidenced by a particular purchase.

It has been at home in the south of France since 2008, Brad Pittsince together with the then partner Angelina Jolie bought an estate surrounded by olive trees, Miraval, 500 hectares of countryside, of which 50 are vineyards. Then, as you know, came the brutal divorce, complete with a feral dispute even over wine lands in the Var department, not far from the sea, in the Provence and Côte d’Azur region. But for music lovers, that name, Miraval, evokes a kind of heaven on earth, not only for the beauty of the context, but for the iconic recording studios, where Pink Floyd’s voices and instruments resounded, which filmed part of The Wallthe Cure or AC/DC, just to name a few.

A concentrate of musical ghosts and technology that has however been abandoned for about twenty years, until Brad Pitt himself decided to bring it back to its former glory, sending a message to a French sound wizard, Damien Quintard, who was heard asking for a date for the following week by the iconic star, obviously thinking of a joke. “I didn’t know it was about Miraval studies, it was a surprise when Brad took out the dossier and asked me what I could do“.

A studio with a great history, for which there have been restoration projects several times, as Pitt – amateur guitarist in his day – recalled to the magazine billboardmanifesting the intention to do something special of the “Abbey Road Studios in France“. In the meantime the works have been done, to remodel the place while preserving its soul, honoring the past while advancing towards the future.
