Brad Pitt suffers a severe legal setback in the battle for custody of his children

Divorce from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie it has been one of the most followed by the international press since the actress ended 12 years of relationship (and two of marriage), filing for divorce for “Differences Irreconcilable” in September 2016. Since then it has been 5 years and the battle in the courts continues.

The latest ruling, which could have marked the end of the dispute, took place less than a month ago, when the judge granted joint custody of their children to both Hollywood stars. However, the American media ‘Us Weekly’ has had access to several legal documents where it states that “three of the children have asked to testify“.

One more legal action by Jolie to get full custody of the children alleging incidents of domestic violence, which are the worst setback for Pitt, who would have to see how 3 of their 6 children testify against joint custody.

“Children whose custody is in dispute are old enough to understand what’s going on. The trial is going to affect them emotionally and three of them have asked to testify,” the document reads. In addition, Angelina Jolie’s lawyer adds that “making children have to endure a process that may prove to be useless and null and void is totally unjustified and cruel“.

These last words refer to Judge John Ouderkirk’s refusal to allow the children to testify. Which for the actress’ legal representatives “denied Jolie a fair trial with evidence relevant to the health, safety and well-being of minors.” In addition to pointing out that an attempt has been made to dismiss the judge appointed by his alleged close relationships with Pitt’s lawyers which could mean that does not maintain impartiality with respect to the case.

The only one who has been able to testify has been Maddox because he has already come of age (he is 19 years old). Let us also remember that one of the Main Reasons for which the press considers that a legal battle of such dimensions is being waged it is directly related to it.

There are many speculations surrounding the incident that occurred aboard a private jet that ended up causing Maddox and Brad Pitt to no longer talk to each other. The documents to which has had access to the American media Above does not specify which of the 6 children who had the couple willing to testify.

Taking into account that the major has already done so and starting from the fact that the lawyers defend that already old enough to know what’s going on, they may be Pax -17 years old-, Zahara -of 16- and Shiloh (14) those who want to intervene in the case, leaving twins Knox and Vivienne, 12, out of the legal process, at least directly.

Angelina Jolie has made it clear on several occasions that would like to go and live abroad, but that, for the moment, you will have to wait until your children are 18 years old. For this reason, everything points to this being one of the first actions that the actress would take if she were granted the custody complete of minors for which he has already been fighting in the courts for 5 years.

Thus, it seems that there is still much to be closed in this legal problem around your children and its custody. Probably, if they had told it a few years ago, many they would not give credit at the end of this marriage.
