Jamie Lynn Spears performed with Alan Bersten for the first time at the Dancing with the Stars premiere, and with her mom Lynne in the audience, she seemed to say something to Alan.
Jamie Lynn Spears may have made a mistake during her first dance on Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday.
The sister of world-famous singer Britney Spears danced tango with her professional partner Alan Bersten and danced to Mabel’s song “Don’t Call Me Up” (Zac Samuel Remix). Jamie Lynn and Alan each received 15 points, while judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli gave them five points each. But even though it wasn’t one of the night’s lowest scores, Jamie Lynn appeared to be apologizing to her partner.
At the end of their dance, when Alan dunks Jamie Lynn and the music stops before it picks up again, she appears to tell Alan, “I’m so sorry.” It’s unclear what exactly she was apologizing for, but the Zoey 101 star mentioned that she’s her “worst enemy” when it comes to criticizing herself. Judge Derek Hough assured Jamie Lynn she was “better than (she) thinks.”

In her introductory video, Jamie Lynn shared her reasons for joining the show. “I’m here to show my kids that there’s nothing more rewarding than being afraid to fail and doing it anyway,” she said. “I need to do something I never usually do.”
Alan was delighted to work with the Nickelodeon star. “I remember looking at her as a child,” he said.
Jamie Lynn said she did traditional dancing and cheerleading as a child. The video also shows the duo practicing and rehearsing in Louisiana, where Jamie Lynn and her family live.
Jamie Lynn said Alan is very supportive during training but can be tough. The actress added: “There was a lot of tough love in my family, so I was able to take it.”
This line seemed to stand out as Spears’ family has been in the news a lot lately. In addition to eldest daughter Britney’s divorce from her husband Sam Asghari, the Crossroads star’s strained relationship with her family has made headlines, especially her relationship with her sister.
Britney criticized Jamie Lynn, saying that during her conservatorship, Jamie Lynn was not supportive of her. Jamie Lynn wrote a book, Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame and Finding It Out, which was criticized for appearing to use Britney’s struggles to promote her book.
Meanwhile, Britney has been showcasing her dancing skills on Instagram and most recently shared a video of herself dancing while twirling meat knives on the social platform. The circus singer reportedly knew her sister would be joining the US version of Strictly Come Dancing and approved it.
