“Brock Purdy has a bruise on his shoulder”

After a grueling NFL career, Tom Brady is enjoying watching games from the comfort of his home this season. The NFL legend had a lot to say about “Let’s Go!” podcast and produced another podcast about young quarterbacks.

Brady talked about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy on the latest episode of his podcast. In a three-minute span, the seven-time Super Bowl champion signed off on Purdy’s resume so far in his career:

“You don’t hear about guys like Brock Purdy unless they do amazing things on the field. So it’s an interesting story. I hope he continues like that because he seems to be a very A humble young man.

“He wants to go out and do great things, and I think the more you think like him that, not living up to expectations, it’s nice to go out and continue to prove people wrong.”

Brady’s comments came after Brock Purdy’s stellar performance against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. The 49ers pass rusher completed 17-of-24 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-10 victory over the Cowboys.

Tom Brady knows the experience of facing Purdy directly on the field last season as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That game in Week 14 of last season was the start of Purdy’s NFL career, in which he led the 49ers to a victory over the Buccaneers.

Some have commented on the 49ers quarterback’s resemblance to the former New England Patriots star. Purdy has a chance to win the Lombardi Trophy in his second season this season. Brady accomplished the feat in 2001, his second season with the Patriots.

Was Tom Brady a 49ers fan growing up?

Tom Brady is from San Mateo, California, and has been a die-hard 49ers fan since he was a kid. Before last season’s game against the 49ers, he spoke to the media about his love for the team and joked about being passed over in the draft:

“(I was) lucky enough to grow up in the Bay Area. It was a great time. So many great players, great era of football. I loved the 49ers, I loved them all through college, when they were six I started hating the 49ers when they skipped me, and that’s what happened.”

Now that Brady is a football fan again, it seems like he’s a Purdy disciple.
