Bubba Wallace says Michael Jordan has become more involved with his 23XI Racing NASCAR team since selling Charlotte Hornets

Imagine having to go to work every day because you know your boss is Michael Jordan.

There is no doubt that Jordan is one of the greatest players of all time: 6-time NBA Champion with the Chicago Bulls, 6-time NBA Finals MVP, 14-time NBA All-Star and 5-time league MVP, just to name a few . A few of his many achievements.

Talk about the pressure of trying to meet your expectations.

Since retiring, Jordan has been busy with many other business ventures. In 2010, Jordan purchased a majority stake in the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, making him the only former NBA player to become a majority owner of the team.

In 2020, he began to get involved in the basketball field and became a Nazca Team owner, who formed 23XI Racing with Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin, fielded the No. 23 car for the team today Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick’s No. 45 car in the NASCAR Cup Series (both cars bear Jordan’s former NBA number).

Jordan is more than just a passive investor in his team. The NBA superstar is often seen at racetracks and sits atop the team’s pit, closely involved in the team’s operations.

The Curtis whom Bubba calls Jordan’s “right-hand man” is Curtis Polk. He has been with Jordan for decades as a consultant and is credited with helping the NBA superstar build his own business empire. The accolades include a collaboration with Nike as well as a line of Jordan shoes and his Cincoro Tequila line.

Jordan is notorious for his expectations of greatness, so it’s no surprise that now that he has more free time, he’s more involved with his team.

You’d think this would mean 23XI Racing would perform better on the track. When you work for Michael Jordan, you don’t have any low expectations.
