Season 6 of Call of Duty will feature a ton of creepy and creepy-related IP.
As detailed in the lengthy announcement for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, Diablo 4, Evil Dead, Spawn, Doom, and Hellsing content is on the way in both games’ Season 6 update. That the Call of Duty brand is able to secure so many licenses for some of the biggest IPs in gaming, comics, and anime in one massive update is truly a testament to the strength of the Call of Duty brand.
The famous comic book anti-hero Spawn will headline the Battle Pass for the sixth season of Call of Duty. Right at launch, anyone with the Battle Pass gets US Security Group assassin Al Simmons, the mortal world identity of Spawn, as their new Operator. Spawn himself, in classic comic book form, is the second of two new playable operators to appear in the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 6 Battle Pass.
There are also plenty of Spawn-inspired Operator skins that can be unlocked as you progress through the Battle Pass. These include “Burnt Spawn”, “Creepy Clown”, “Intruder”, “Destroyer”, “Soul Crusher”, “Nobody” and “Gaia”.
Diablo 4 villains Inarius and Lilith also join the Call of Duty roster as playable characters. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get an idea of what these will actually look like in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2, but they will be available as part of the package.
Alucard – yes, the tyrannical vampire turned vampire hunter from the legendary manga and anime Hellsing – will be available as a playable Operator in his own Call of Duty Season 6 set.
My personal favorite of the Call of Duty horror-themed crossovers is by far the coolest: Ash Williams, star of the Evil Dead 2 bundle, which also includes bolt gun blueprints and “lots of gear for killing undead and primitive thugs.”
The Doom crossover is admittedly a bit of a disappointment, if only because you won’t be able to fight your way through Al Mazra as Doomguy. However, you’ll be able to buy the Doom Tracer Weapon Bundle, which includes an “arsenal of gear” like a chainsaw and a long-range shotgun – exactly what Call of Duty needs.
Finally, Skeletor, the hooded supervillain from the Masters of the Universe franchise, will also become a playable Operator if you purchase his bundle as part of the Season 6 update. A bit random, but I’ll take it.
Let me remind you that pop star Nicki Minaj is already competing in Call of Duty, which means that we will soon live in a world where Nicki Minaj can use the Doom super shotgun to kill Lilith from Diablo 4. What a time to be alive.
The terrifying Season 6 update arrives on Wednesday, September 27, with all of the above, plus the return of the Halloween-appropriate Haunting event, three new weapons, four new maps, and more.
Of course it’s all in anticipation Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3launch November 10th.
