Cardi B and Tasha K’s legal battle has reached a deadlock

Last year, a judge awarded Cardi B nearly $4 million in a defamation suit against Tasha K. Back in May, the internet personality filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and her filings revealed her assets. It quickly became clear that there was no way for the gossip blogger to pay off his debt to Cardi anytime soon.

In August, Tasha K offered the rapper only a fraction of what she owed her—$220,000. She proposed it as part of a payment plan that was to be submitted within a month of filing for bankruptcy. The “Bongo” singer turned down her offer. She stated that Tasha K. had chances to retract her offensive statements about her, but did not do so. “Defendant was given numerous opportunities to retract the false and defamatory statements and videos, but Defendant steadfastly refused to do so,” Cardi said in a dissent filed by her attorney.

Cardi B and Tasha K’s case continues

Now new documents filed yesterday (October 6) confirm that the case continues to drag on. The documents reveal a ton of damages and other expenses that Tasha K owes Cardi Cardi, totaling millions of dollars. It’s unclear when the case will finally be resolved, but it doesn’t appear to be any time soon.

Amid the ongoing case, Cardi recently took to social media to respond to the frequent hate she continues to be targeted online. “I tried not to disappoint my fans because I tried to be a professional Cardi B.
