Cesena, 28 March 2023 – They call them ‘responsible sneakers’because they are created with rigorously certified materials, all coming from processes of waste recovery or from the biosynthesis of by-products of the agri-food chain. These are the leisure shoes that two homegrown superstars of fashion – the brand from San Marino Baldininion the one hand, and Msgmclothing brand founded in Milan by the stylist from Longiano Massimo Giorgettion the other – they have created in collaboration with the Italian startup Acbc.
Acronym of ‘Anything can be changed’ (literally, ‘anything can be changed’), Acbc specializes in the design and production of sustainable shoesusing cutting-edge technologies. He has signed projects in collaboration with names of the caliber of Diadora, Piquadro, Missoni and Save the duck.
Launched a month ago, on the occasion of the latest Milanese fashion shows, the small ‘Acbc per Baldinini’ collection is made up of 20 models for men and womenmade by shaping materials such as recycled thermoplastic polyurethane, PET bottles and sugar cane processing waste. The logo in relief is embossed on the sole, mainly made up of ‘retpu’, a material obtained from recycled rubber granules, while the midsole is in ‘bio-eva’, a material biosynthesized from sugar cane, and the lining is of recycled polyester.
“This is the first collection bearing witness to Baldinini’s commitment to a more responsible future, with a lower environmental impact. It was possible to produce it thanks to the meeting with the startup Acbc, which married our precious heritage with an innovative hand, in the wake of Italian excellence”, commented Christian Prazzoli, managing director of the historic footwear brand ‘made in San Mauro’.
And for several seasons now, the creative director and founder of Msgm, Massimo Giorgetti from Longiano, has dedicated ample space to sustainability in the collections with the ‘Fantastic Green 1’ project, which declines garments and accessories in a futuristic and planet-friendly key. For spring-summer 2023, Giorgetti has created, in partnership with Acbc, the ‘Fg1’, ‘green’ sneakers, entirely built with organic fabrics and recycled materials, from rubber to plastic bottles.
