The Hollywood star no longer intends to gain weight for cinematic reasons: “After 40, you won’t lose weight so easily.”
Charlize Theron vows she won’t put on any more weight to fit her body to a certain movie role.
The Academy Award winner lost about 30 pounds with no problems after playing serial killer Eileen Wuornos in the 2003 movie Monster; However, the task was not so easy for the star after filming in Tully in 2018.
“I will never again accept a film with the words: “OK, I will put on 20 kg for this role.” I will never do this again, because losing weight is not so easy anymore, ”she admitted to Allure.
“When I was 27, I starred in Monster. I lost 30 pounds (about 13 kg; approx. ed.) from night to day. I skipped three meals and returned to my target weight. I was 43 years old when I shot Tully and remember it took me a year to lose weight. I called my doctor and said, “I think I’m dying because I can’t lose weight.”
And he said, “It’s okay, he’s in his 40s, relax. Your metabolism is not the same.” Nobody wants to hear it.”
Even with injuries everything has changed
The 48-year-old girl is not even easy to recover from the injuries that happen to her on the set of action films.
“What really pisses me off is that now I’m doing action movies and if I get injured it takes me a lot longer to heal than when I was 20,” he admitted.
“More than my face, I wish I had my 25 year old body so I could hit a wall and be pain free the next day. Now if I don’t exercise for three days and go back to the gym, I won’t be able to walk. I can’t sit on the toilet. These are all real moments.”
Despite her misgivings, Charlize has already starred in the sequel to The Old Guard and will soon return to the set for the sequel to Explosive Blonde.
