By his calculations, his efforts have helped reduce the number of homeless animals killed by as much as 91%, at least as far as the Chicago area is concerned.

However, PAWS Chicago still believes there is room for improvement, and their next step in doing so is connecting with the growing crypto community in the US the organization’s CEO; Susanna Homan stated that members of the crypto industry can help sustain the future of animal welfare in the area. Additionally, they can help save the lives of abandoned pets and street-raised animals.

Interestingly, by accepting Dogecoin, the shelter will allow the meme-based cryptocurrency, which uses a Shiba Inu as a pet, to help save real dogs, as well as cats. The coin had great exposure and popularity in 2021, thanks to the efforts of its own community, but also billionaire businessman and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk.
