Chris Cornell’s last unedited interview

fabulous tv publishedunedited interview recorded on the red carpet of a film premiere “Promise”feature film on the theme of the Armenian Genocide, of which Cornell wrote a songPromise, actually) for the soundtrack.

Interview dated April 2017a month before the disappearance of the singer and as of today the last one he released.

In the video, the journalist asks Chris Cornell the difference between writing music to make music and writing it for a movie, and here is his answer: “If I’m writing music to make music, every idea that comes to my mind makes sense because it’s about me and what I think or feel. For a film, you have to be connected to the story, and it’s your responsibility to make sure that collaboration works and write something alive in harmony with it.”

He is then asked if he feels more responsible towards the film: “Absolutely yes. My wife is Greek, as is her family, and they shared some history with the Armenians when it comes to the genocide. It was part of the same system. I have many Armenian friends. I’m so happy that I was asked to write music for this film, and I was obsessed with not letting anyone down or disappointing.”
