Chrissy Teigen and John Legend renew their vows after ‘trial’

This was not marital bliss for Chrissy Teigen And John Legend. Since they tied the knot in September 2013, he has admitted to “selfish” behavior in their marriage, while she admitted to being a “functioning alcoholic” at times. Accompanied by close friends and family, the 37-year-old cookbook author and the 44-year-old “Minefields” singer recently returned to Lake Como in Italy, where they first tied the knot 10 years ago, for a multi-day celebration. “Chrissy and John have been through a lot over the past few years. Bringing back joy

Indeed, Chrissie revealed that it was in this picturesque region that she knew she wanted to spend her life with John when they holidayed there in 2007. “The guide took us on a boat to a small place on the lake and told us to make a wish,” she recalls. “I asked that this be the man I would marry and have children with.”

This past September, children Luna, 7, Miles, 5, Esty, 9 months, and Wren, whom they welcomed via a surrogate in June, were in tow as they exchanged vows for the second time at Villa Pizzo. “John and Chrissie spared no expense. They were like, “Let’s have a huge party!” says an insider to the raucous bash, which featured the couple arriving by boat, a lakeside bar, John serenading his wife and at least three outfit changes for Chrissy. “Luna and Miles were involved and delighted. Having all four of their children there made the celebration even more special.”

Also special was the added weight behind their words in this detour. “There was a lot more heart in these vows after all the trials and tribulations their family has been through over the last decade,” says the insider. “Now John and Chrissy say they want to do the whole renewal process again in 10 years!”
