Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco 49ers continued their perfect start to the 2023 season with a 35-16 home victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. McCaffrey had a strong afternoon, rushing 20 times for 106 yards and three touchdowns, all of which came in the first half for the 49ers.
In fact, McCaffrey’s performance was so impressive that Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James commented on it on X (formerly Twitter).

After the game, Christian McCaffrey talked about praise he received From one of the greatest athletes of all time.
“I don’t know that he watches Neenah football, but I have to get him to watch a game.”

The high-profile praise is just the latest praise McCaffrey has received for his historic start with the 49ers. He was traded to the 49ers from the Carolina Panthers midway through last season.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, McCaffrey passed team icon Jerry Rice on Sunday to become the player with the most consecutive games with 13 touchdowns. McCaffrey provides one of the best rushing attacks in the league to complement San Francisco’s impressive corps of receiving talent that includes Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle.
Next up, the 49ers face their toughest test of the season so far when they take on the Dallas Cowboys at home, who were defeated by San Francisco in the 2022 playoffs. The game is scheduled to begin on October 8 at 8:20 pm ET.
