Christopher Nolan: 3 best films of the director

Christopher Nolan he is the author multifacetedwho has worked with various film genres. The Anglo-American director received critical acclaim early in his career for many of his films, such as Originwith Leonardo DiCaprio, trilogy The Dark Knight and his latest masterpiece, Oppenheimer.

Without being able to exhaustively cover his entire filmography in one article, here’s what we think top three films Christopher Nolan.

The Dark Knight (2008)

WITH Batman Beginsthe first film in the Batman trilogy, Nolan has already met our expectations, thanks not only to his skillful direction, but also to the leading man, Christian Bale (American Psycho, Equilibrium), who masterfully portrayed the role of Bruce Wayne.

The second film, however, is by far considered by us to be the best of the three: The Dark KnightBatman has to fight his nemesis, the Joker, played by a fantastic Heath Ledger (who won an Oscar – post mortem – like best supporting actor).

Memories (2000)

Taken from a story memento Moriwritten by the director’s brother Jonathan Nolan, the film is the second film from the director who made him famous in Hollywood thanks to one of the most beautiful and mind-blowing plot twists in the history of cinema.

Guy Pearce plays a man suffering from short-term memory loss: he will have to “fix” this problem word tattoo which he needs to find out who killed his wife. Often the words that the main character tattoos are not only his discoveries, but also impressions, thereby confusing the viewer in a whirlwind of mysteries, up to overwhelming truth…which, however, we do not indulge you.

The film, presented at the Venice Film Festival in 2000, was critically acclaimed with a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 8.3/10.

Oppenheimer (2023)

Well, yes, despite the fact that this is the last film by Christopher Nolan and it has just been released (in Italy it is expected on August 23), we can safely say that, as already described in our review, Oppenheimer That’s for sure one of Nolan’s best films.

The director managed to touch on such a complex topic as Atomic bomb in an ingenious way, managing to make the three hours of the film fly by in the blink of an eye. Thanks to the fragmented and dense narrative about memoriesbut not confusing, the film is incredibly crystal clear and star cast it definitely helped make it Oppenheimer Christopher Nolan masterpiece.
