The most charming summer area of the city of Florence comes alive once again with the spirit of contemporary cinema, with great stories, talking points, laughter and suggestions: the fourth edition of Cinema in Villa will start on 4 July on the panoramic Belvedere Terrace. For two months, until 27 August 2023, every evening at 9.15 pm, a rich program of films with many guests, starting with the best of the recently concluded season, as well as some important summer releases, new Italian and European cinema Together. A special price thanks to the national promotion “Cinema Kranti”. Thursday cinema appointments at the Famiglia are confirmed (with free admission upon reservation), there is no shortage of cinema in the original language, while a summer tribute is dedicated to the famous films of Nanni Moretti.
The inauguration on 4 July is entrusted to L’ultima notte di amore by Andrea Di Stefano in the presence of the director. Two more evenings with guests, then on 17 July with director Giacomo Abbruzzese who presents his acclaimed debut Disco Boy, while on 25 July Marcetti Ruspoli presents a screening of his debut film Amusia.
Guest for three evenings of Buio in the Sala cycle, organized in collaboration with the Psychoanalytic Center of Florence, with Stefania Withanias, who introduces a screening of Rapito by Marco Bellocchio, Alessia Fusili di Camillis, who introduces La Stranazza by Roberto Ando , Teresa Lorito who introduces Stranazzi d’Amuri by Giuseppe Fiorello.
Seven films in tribute to Nanni Moretti: from the recent I il sol dell’Avenire in Santiago, Italy, to the great classics Dear Diary, April, Io sono un autarchico and Palombella Rossa.
Among fixed titles, some Italian films will have English subtitles (among others, L’ultima notte d’amore, Rapito and The Eight Mountains) and some American films will be shown in original sound and subtitled in Italian, such as Air – Ben Affleck’s Big Leap, James Mangold’s Indiana Jones and the Quadrant of Destiny, Sam Mendes’ Empire of Light and Todd Field’s Tar, with an extraordinary Cate Blanchett.
A varied program for free-admission Thursdays of family cinema, featuring, among others, the elegant animation of Ernest and Célestine – The Adventure of the 7 Notes by Jean-Christophe Roger and Julien Cheng, the poetic documentary The Panther of the Navy by Marie is included. Amiguet and Vincent Meunier, based on the manga Slam Dunk by Takehiko Inoue and Yasuyuki Ebara until the huge success of The First Slam Dunk
