The new Endoscopy Department of Clínica CleverSalud offers comprehensive, high-quality solutions for the treatment of diseases of the digestive system and related organs such as the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, small intestine, colon and rectum.
We have more than 8 highly qualified professionals: gastroenterologist, endoscopic surgeon, colorectologist, pathologist and clinical staff: nurses, assistants and TENS.
Within our facility and infrastructure, we have three rooms to perform colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures. Our equipment is state-of-the-art, guaranteeing high-definition examinations, an essential tool for professionals to achieve the best possible diagnosis in the shortest possible time.
Endoscopy is a test that looks at the upper gastrointestinal tract: the esophagus, stomach, and first part of the intestine. For the detection of common diseases such as peptic ulcer, gastritis, esophagitis, the presence of Helicobacter pylori, and the detection of cancer.
Dr. Gabriel Vial Letelier, head of our department and Head of Endoscopy at the CleverSalud Clinic, told us: “We use a probe (endoscope) to detect abnormalities. The patient has to fast for 8 hours. The procedure is an outpatient procedure but requires sedation, So you need someone to be with you. Recovery only takes a few minutes.
A colonoscopy can look at the condition of the large intestine (colon) and rectum. Gastroenterologist Dr. Jairo Ruiz Rodríguez of Clínica Cleversalud explained: “Polyps, diverticulosis, inflammation and colon cancer were detected. The patient’s preparation included bowel cleansing the day before and standard sedation to allow for a quick recovery”.
