Collin Morikawa joins Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams’ TGL Los Angeles club

Justin Thomas became the first player to sign with a TGL team on Tuesday, followed just 24 hours later by Collin Morikawa.

The Southern California native signed on Wednesday with LAGC, the team led by Reddit co-founders Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams and Owned by Venus Williams. Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brother are limited partners in the club, along with Alex Morgan, her husband Servando Carrasco and Michelle Wie West.

“We are very excited to welcome Colin to the Los Angeles Golf Club family,” said Ohanian. “Colin’s outstanding skills, commitment to the game and resonance with fans make him the perfect fit for LAGC.”

“I am honored and excited to join Los Angeles Golf Club as their inaugural team player,” added Morikawa. “TGL has the opportunity to reach new fans and inspire excitement about the game.”

Morikawa is already a two-time major champion and has won six PGA Tour titles in just five years as a professional. The former Cal standout also won the 2021 European Tour Dubai season.

Led by Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, the TGL is a new technology-rich golf league that will feature six teams (four PGA Tour players each) in Florida The game is played on a large simulator inside Palm Beach State University’s new stadium. Fans can watch the games on ESPN, with the first game taking place on January 9, 2024.
