A prestigious party at the Venice Arsenal brought leading names from the film and music worlds to Venice, including Sophia Loren, Jessica Chastain, Rocio Muñoz Morales, Casia Smutniak, Claudia Guerini, Benicio Del Toro, Gabriele Salvatores, Giuseppe Tornatore, Luca Guadagnino and Luca Argentero . The event, titled “One Night Only Venice”, included a selection of fashion creations, some of which were inspired by the city of Venice, to which Armani is deeply attached. Suddenly, an event that took place in the twilight of the party spoiled the state of mind of Marco Agostini, and he took him and left.
The incident took place during an event and allegedly involved a young man of Eurasian descent, who appears to have gone beyond acceptable behavior towards Agostini through unspecified “groping”. No further details of the “approach” are known, and the commander chose not to react aggressively or hostilely and file a formal complaint, but instead chose to distance himself from the situation.
Everything became clear from Agostini’s Facebook post (subsequently deleted). This is what the Commander said on the social network: “I had to live to be almost 63 years old to understand how a victimized woman feels when her ass is pawed. To interrupt it, I decided to quickly move away from the event I was participating in, always keeping a smile on my lips, rather than posting it simply out of respect for the uniform I wear, but the temptation was strong!”
After the message was deleted, Commander Agostini chose not to comment further on the incident. However, her experience sheds additional light on the problem of sexual harassment. In the same way that her decision to withdraw from the event stimulates discussion about the need to address the issue of harassment in situations where the victim is “forced” not to report the facts.
