Concern for hospital guards during capital long weekend

Between September 16 and 18, the System for Medical Assistance for Emergency and Disasters (SAMEC) provided 204 on-site care for a variety of reasons, including:

• 86 due to traffic accident
• 7 Epilepsy patients
• 15 For people who have trouble breathing
• 3 Patients with decompensated diabetes
• 47 injuries and assaults
• 53 Domestic Violence
• 2 people injured with knife
• In addition, from 7 a.m. on Saturday the 16th to 7 a.m. on Monday the 18th, a total of 665 calls were made, and assistance was provided 70 times at different venues and events where people gathered.

The Women’s and Children’s Hospital reported the following news from 8pm on Tuesday the 12th to 8am on Monday the 18th:

The adult ward admitted 569 patients, of whom 101 were hospitalized. There were 193 obstetric visits, 228 gynecological visits, and 99 medical outpatient visits.

A total of 1,663 patients were admitted to the pediatric ward, 76 of whom were hospitalized. Causes of emergencies included 523 due to respiratory illnesses, 110 due to various injuries, 217 due to gastroenteritis and 11 due to dog bites.

There were 68 live births: 28 males and 40 females.

At San Bernardo Hospital, from 8 a.m. on Wednesday the 12th to 8 a.m. on Monday the 18th, a total of 1,673 consultations were received.

Of those treated, 355 were hospitalized.

A total of 270 people were injured, 143 of them due to traffic accidents:

• 66 Motorcyclist
• 51 Passersby
• 19 motorists
• 7 cyclists

Additionally, 86 patients were referred from other medical centers during on-call assistance.

From Wednesday the 13th to Monday the 18th at 8 a.m., the emergency wards of the Señor del Milagro Hospital provided 632 services per ward to persons over 15 years of age. Medical claims are made for cases of pharyngitis and gastroenteritis.

A total of 662 patients were treated at Papa Francisco Hospital over the weekend. The most common reasons for consultation are: abdominal pain, acute nasopharyngitis, multiple trauma, other infectious gastroenteritis and colitis, headache, nausea and vomiting, and urinary tract infection.

Arturo Onativia

The Dr. Arturo Onativia Hospital has received 103 emergency ward consultations since Wednesday the 17th, mainly due to: diabetic decompensation, urinary tract infections, gastroenteritis and chronic kidney disease.

Miguel Lagun

From Wednesday the 12th to 6 p.m. Monday, the guard received and treated 91 patients.
