The federal government was established that the companies of production of steel, cement and glass as well as the services of information technology are considered essential activities, whose suspended during the emergency by the coronavirus COVID-19 it can have irreversible effects for their operation.

Through a decree published in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF) the federal government also included the companies and e-commerce platforms in the industry of courier companies whose activity is essential, and the same will be able to operate as long as they meet the extraordinary measures established by the Secretariat of Health (Ssa) against the contingency by the COVID-19.

Specified that the business of production of steel, cement and glass with which it has contracts for the construction of the railroad, Maya the refinery in Dos Bocas, the Airport of Santa Lucia and the Corridor Transísmico during the pandemic for COVID-19, will continue to operate during a contingency only and exclusively to continue with these projects.

In addition, it is ensured that the existing contracts, and considered as indispensable for Petróleos Mexicanos and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) continue to operate.

“Those companies production of steel, cement and glass that have existing contracts with the Federal Government, will continue the activities that enable them to comply with the commitments of short-term exclusively for the projects of Dos Bocas, Train Maya, Airport Philip Angels, Broker Transísmico; as well as the existing contracts are considered as indispensable for Petróleos Mexicanos and the Federal Electricity Commission,” he said.

FIRST.- For the activities in which the suspension can have irreversible effects for its continuation, as referred to in the final part (c), fraction II, ARTICLE FIRST of the Agreement establishing unique actions to address the health emergency generated by the virus SARS-CoV2, means the following:

Business of production of steel, cement and glass, as well as the services of information technology to ensure continuity of the computer systems in the public, private and social.

SECOND.- The business of production of steel, cement and glass will maintain a minimum level of activity to avoid irreversible effects on their operation; to do this they must inform the Secretariat of Economy through e-mail: [email protected], in accordance with Annex 1, in a period not to exceed 24 hours from the publication of these Guidelines, the total number of workers which to that effect is essential. In addition, you must comply with the practices set out in the fraction III, of the First Article of the Agreement establishing unique actions to address the health emergency generated by the virus SARS-CoV2.

Those companies production of steel, cement and glass that have existing contracts with the Federal Government, will continue the activities that enable them to fulfill the commitments of short-term exclusively for the projects of Dos Bocas, Train Maya, Airport Felipe Angeles, Corridor Transísmico; as well as the existing contracts are considered as indispensable for Petróleos Mexicanos and the Federal Electricity Commission.
