During the conference, which is made daily on the dot of 19:00 hours, Hugo López-Gatell, undersecretary of prevention and health promotion, also specified that after the period of isolation of different patients that had confirmed positive COVID-19, around of a 25% they do not pose a risk of contagion, well, it’s already healed of the disease. He also stressed that, up to the moment, the probability of dying by COVID-19 is 0.074 per 100 thousand inhabitants; however, invited to the citizenship not to be trusted, since according to the calculations of the SSa, expects Mexico between the Phase 3 of the pandemic among two to three weeks.
It also continues to the average age in the confirmed cases, who is 43 years old, and the range is from 0 up to the age of 91. The majority of cases continue to occur in men, with a 58% incidence, while that in women is 42 percent. These numbers are similar to that of the european population; however, the metrics mexican not lose sight of the characteristics of the national population.
This because Mexico has one of the highest numbers in diabetes, hypertension and overweight, factors that can aggravate the symptoms of COVID-19.
He also stressed that the deaths related to the disease, have one or two aggravating circumstances.
The World Health organization (WHO) indicates that the main factors that can aggravate the symptoms the individuals are chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, breathing problems, are overweight, belong to the population of older adults, the pregnancy and have the compromised immune system. This last one can be for treatments that are immunosuppressive, such as those who are undergoing patients cancer or the people who live with HIV/AIDS.
In addition, WHO continues to insist on the social isolation to decrease the curve epidemic and, in this way, to avoid that the health services collapse by a sobredemanda generated by a saturation of patients in a very short period of time.
In Mexico, the federal government implemented the National day of Healthy Distance, which promotes the social isolation and comprises a period of Monday 23 march to Thursday 30 of April. This strategy is based on four strategic axes.
The first of them is to spread the basic rules of hygiene, where to promote the healthy distance, the sneezing etiquette and the proper cleaning of the hands is paramount. The next section is the suspension of non-essential activitiesthis with the purpose of avoiding the exposure of individuals in their regular chores, and transportation inherent in these. The third point consists of the reprogramming events of massive concentrationby this point, have been cancelled in different shows all around the republic. The latter expresses the special attention that they should have the seniors and any person that is susceptible to the onslaughts of the COVID-19.
To be able to define what are the essential activitiesthe Ministry of Health and the ministry of Labour disseminated information regarding this point from the National Day of Healthy Distance. Both secretariats reported that everything that does not match with the following five points, will qualify in automatic as an activity not essential:
