The province of El Salvador continues Covid-19 and influenza vaccinations in its fifth season through the Municipal Secretariat of Health (SMS) (28).

The third dose of the vaccine will be offered exclusively to immunocompromised Salvadoran residents 12 years of age or older.

Confirm programming:

BIVALENTE is indicated for the general population 12 years of age or older, including those with permanent disabilities; who are immunocompromised or who have comorbidities in the same age group. To obtain vaccination, one only needs to have a vaccination card, be a resident of Bahia and receive two doses of monovalent vaccine, spaced 4 months apart.

As immunocompromised people who have not started or completed a primary regimen of three prescribed doses, they are also eligible to receive the bivalent vaccine, as compliance with any two immunizing agents (Coronavac, Oxford, Pfizer or Janssen) begins with the last dose received2 minimum interval of months). Within this general public, persons receiving three doses of the vaccine must observe a 4-month interval from the third dose before receiving the bivalent vaccine.

Documentation: The interested party must present the original and copy of the vaccination card or the national digital vaccination card, a photo identification document and proof of residence in the city of Bahia.

Pregnant women: The second technical report does not require any confirmation of pregnancy status; it is sufficient for the woman to confirm her pregnancy status.

Postpartum women: Documents proving the puerperium must be presented (birth certificate, pregnancy card, certificate from the hospital where the birth occurred)

Health workers: You must present documentation confirming valid contact with a health service through a receipt, review or consultation letter or statement from a professional health service.

The vaccination strategy includes first and second doses for children aged 6 months to 4 years and 11 months and 29 days old, with and without comorbidities. Residents of El Salvador will also receive Pfizer’s Intensive Pediatric Services for children ages 5 to 11 with comorbidities. Immunization of children in the general public will be carried out by presenting the child’s and binational and/or responsáveis ​​identity documents, vaccination card and Salvadoran SUS card.

GENERAL RELEASE: First- and second-dose applications for people 18 years of age or older are available to people who are not residents of El Salvador or who have not yet started the main program in the capital.

The third dose of the vaccine will be offered exclusively to immunocompromised persons aged 12 years or older and registered on the treating physician’s SMS website.

Individuals 18 years of age or older who have received a Janssen Primary Plan vaccine are also required to be immunized. The Ministry of Health’s technical note states that all individuals aged 18 to 39 years with the Janssen vaccine (single dose) as their primary treatment regimen should receive a second booster dose; all individuals aged 40 years or older will receive a third booster dose, Equivalent to the total number of vaccines in other COVID-19 vaccine programs.
