CPCS issues fire hazard warning for Toos electric scooters

The Toos Elite 60-volt electric scooter, also sold under the Zooz name, is sold at Toos Urban Ride stores in New York and online on the Toos website.

Local fire officials determined that a recent apartment fire that killed two people was caused by a lithium-ion battery in a Toos Elite 60-volt scooter, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a news release. The company also said it offered to perform a free safety inspection on the scooter to check battery voltage, inspect the scooter’s wiring, check for physical damage and water damage, and make any necessary repairs, but the CPSC rejected the offer. proposal.
