With just a few days until the release of the new game EA Sports FC 24, EA Sports has announced a list of the best 24 players, among which the absence of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo stands out.
The Portuguese’s average score of 86 points is his lowest since the previous version of FIFA 19, when he topped out at 94 points. Another name in red is Lionel Messi. Despite making the All-Top 24 list, he didn’t crack the top five, finishing sixth with an average of 90 points.
This only confirms the huge generational changes the football world is currently experiencing, even more so now that Messi (Inter Miami) and Ronaldo (Al Nasr) have both decided to abandon the highest sporting levels and migrate to less demanding leagues.
Both football stars have been rated as the best by the video game company in previous editions, and even have an average rating of 94 in the FIFA 19 edition. Since then, the pair’s average has been declining. In the FIFA 20, FIFA 21, FIFA 22 and FIFA 23 versions; Messi and Ronaldo’s average records are 94-93, 93-92, 93-91 and 91-90 respectively.
For EA Sports, the best player right now is Frenchman Kylian Mbappé with an average of 91 points. She is followed by current women’s Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas with an average of 91 points. Ranked third is Norwegian Erling Haaland. Like the first two, he also scored 91 points.
The next video game will be released on September 29 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC consoles.
