There is controversy surrounding Portuguese forward and Saudi Arabian Al Nasr star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has filed a lawsuit against Italy’s Turin-based Juventus for allegedly failing to pay him $20 million. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, his salary during the break was reduced, which is why he asked the country’s authorities to give him the money.
Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported the news and announced that the Lusitania star’s lawyers hope to recover part of his wages through a lawsuit filed with the Turin prosecutor’s office.
Documents provided by lawyers detail Ronaldo’s agreement to defer salary payments during the 2020 lockdown and Also in the second year, as a way to support clubs in coping with the serious crisis they had to face when all sporting events in Europe were cancelled. The agreement is part of Juve’s “salary case”, which officially slashed players’ wages for nearly a year and a half.
