‘D-Day’ in the fight against influenza: Saud plans to vaccinate nearly a thousand people in Acre this Saturday (25th) | Acres

As many people are still not vaccinated against influenza, the National Immunization Program of Acre (PNI-AC) mobilizes municipalities to participate in the D-Day vaccination this Saturday (25th). About a thousand residents of the state are expected to be immunized on this day alone.

However, Renata Quiles, PNI coordinator in Acre, said search volumes were low and Acre cities were expected to open to the public this Saturday.

Flu vaccinations are open to the general public in the state. The event starts on the last day of December 13th and ends on December 15th. Only two priority groups of more than 300,000 people must receive the non-Aka flu vaccine, which is the second target of the State Health Secretariat (Sesacre).

In Rio Blanco, the Special Immunobiology Reference Center (Crie) is open for vaccinations. In addition, the Province of Rio Blanco informed that the Urap Rosangela Pimentel and Barral and Barral Policlinica will also open at 7 pm for influenza immunization.

This year, the Ministry of Health (MS) has changed the vaccination calendar in the northern region to adapt to the tropical and Amazonian climate that differs from the rest of Brazil, potentially reducing complications, internalization and mortality from influenza.

The Amazon winter is known as the worst time for viral and influenza spread in the northern region.

“We are seeing the flu vaccination campaign in the Northern Territory occur as a result of the Department of Health’s sensitivity to seasonal protection adjustments in the two states in the region. The flu is a viral infection that also typically attacks the lungs, nose, and throat. Symptoms include fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, congestion, rhinitis, headache and fatigue.

Priority groups for vaccination include:

• Idosos over 60 years old
• health worker
• Children 6 months to under 6 years old
• Pregnant and postpartum women
• indigenous peoples
• professor
• People with comorbidities and people with permanent impairments
• Road workers, collective transport workers, urban and long-distance passenger transport, port workers
• Security and rescue force professionals
• armed forces professionals
• officials deprived of liberty
• Population deprived of liberty over the age of 18, adolescents subject to socio-educational measures and people living on the streets.
