Stevie NicksFleetwood Mac leader praised the series Daisy Jones and the sixwhich many fans compare to the band’s real-life story.
Based on the novel by Taylor Jenkins Reed, the project chronicles the rise and fall of a rock band in the 1970s, and the complex relationship between singer-songwriter Daisy (Riley Keough) and Billy (Sam Claflin).
The writer, talking about her work, cited a live performance by Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, band members and former life partners, as inspiration for the story.
Stevie wrote on social media:
I just finished watching Daisy Jones and the Six for the second time. It wasn’t really my story at first, but Riley easily turned it into my story. It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was a truly emotional experience.
The artist also added that he would love for Christine McVie to be able to see it, saying that she would love the series, which stars Suki Waterhouse as Karen, a character who has a lot in common with her.
Stevie Nicks then emphasized that, like many members of the crew and cast, she hopes for an extension:
I hope this continues…
Producer Scott Neustadter hasn’t ruled out making a second season of the series, explaining that it was deliberately decided to move forward to when the main characters turn 40, leaving plenty of stories left to tell.
