Canadian trio Danko Jones will release their eleventh studio album on September 15, 2023.sound of lightning” But AFM Records, after the first starter”guess who’s back“, Danko Jones Presents New Single”happy times”, with a karaoke-style video that features a guest inge johansson (Gatuplan, formerly Against Me! and formerly International Noise Conspiracy).
the video was directed by Philip Hovhannesjo by Horseboy (Yung Lean, Martin Garrix, Victor Lexell and many more).
Frontman Danko Jones said about the new album: “Not working for two years was like touring rock bands. But I think it has inspired us to try harder. We still managed to record and release an album during the pandemic (‘Power Trio’, 2021). We visited as soon as possible. Now that ‘Electric Sounds’ is about to release, it looks like we haven’t missed a beat. We are separated from each other during the pandemic. JC lives in Finland and Rich lives in Prince Edward Island. So the process of making a band has changed: before we jotted down ideas day after day in our rehearsal room, but now it’s more about sending files back and forth. However, last summer, when we were on tour, we managed to work on some ideas in a rehearsal room in Berlin for a few days.”
“I think ‘Electric Sounds’ is in line with all of our previous albums, over the years we’ve created a sound and stuck to it, but if I had to compare it to other albums, I think a little bit more than the others.” is fast. In the beginning I wanted all the songs to sound like our Cadillac, ie slow, mid-tempo, heavy and right on point. Our songs are usually about rock, wanna rock, life rockin enjoy, and sometimes I sing about a lady. You can expect zero surprises!”.
Produced by “Electric Sounds” Eric Ratz and sees the participation of Tyler Stewart (Baked Ladies), damian abraham (glitch) and guitarist daniel decke (of Canadian thrash legends Exciter).
