David Fincher’s Netflix film The Killer added to 2023 New York Film Festival – The Hollywood Reporter

New York Film Festival adds David Fincher film Murderer in the spotlight for the Class of 2023.

The pulpy drama, which stars Michael Fassbender as a deranged killer, will open Oct. 14 at the Paris Theater and a day later at the Walter Reed Theater. Fincher’s film about a master killer (Fassbender) who becomes embroiled in an international manhunt after his previous work is wrongly failed in competition in Venice, will be streaming on Netflix on November 10th.

Fincher is directing from a script by Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven), and Sean Chaffin is considered the producer of the project. Murderer adapts the graphic novel series of the same name by writer Alexis Nolent (aka Matz) and illustrator Luc Jacquamont, which was originally published in French by Editions Casterman.

The New York Film Festival’s Spotlight section, presented by Film at Lincoln Center, will also host a gala screening of Bradley Cooper’s film. Ownerworld premieres of the Showtime series Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie Damn starring Emma Stone, Garth Davis’ Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal in the title roles. Enemy.

Other Spotlight selections include the US premieres of Hayao Miyazaki’s first film in a decade. Boy and heronand Richard Linklater Hitmanco-written and starring Glen Powell as a philosophy professor who moonlights as an undercover hitman for the New Orleans Police Department.

The festival, which opens on Friday May December and close with Ferrari and show Priscilla Also taking center stage will be the North American premiere of Sean Price Williams’ feature debut. Sweet Eaststarring Talia Ryder, Simon Rex, Ayo Edebiri and Jeremy O. Harris, as well as a late-night screening of Harmony Korine’s film. Agro Driftfilmed entirely in infrared.
