Demi Lovato was a guest this week on SiriusXM hosted by Andy Cohen on Radio One.
In the interview, the 30-year-old music artist — who performed in Philadelphia this month — discussed her 2018 fatal overdose and how she’s struggled with the side effects.
The Texas-born star revealed that she had developed blind spots and hearing loss due to the overdose.
He explained to the 55-year-old Cohen, “I am visually impaired and can still hear today.”
Due to her poor eyesight, Lovato is no longer able to drive, but she prefers to look at the experience in a positive light.

The actress said, “Okay, I will not change my path because I have no regrets.”
“My biggest regret is when I overdosed and wish someone had told me I was beautiful, because I didn’t believe it.
Demi said, “And secondly, I wish someone would tell me that if I just sit through the pain, the pain will go away.”
Born Demetria Devon Lovato, the musician said the long-term effects of her experience help keep her on the path to sobriety.
It is a daily and constant reminder. She told Andy that whenever I look at something, for example, when I look at your face, I have blind spots in my vision.
“And so it’s a constant reminder to stay on the right track, because I don’t want that to ever happen again,” she admitted.
Demi, who was dating fellow musician Gott last year, explained how her mental state has helped her see the bright side of things.
Luckily, in my mental state now – you know, being calm, having a clear mind – I just think in a more positive headspace and I’m not shame-focused at all because I know that’s where I’m at. I have a lot of empathy for what I did at the time and the choices.
He added, “There’s no shame in it because it was just a life lesson I had to learn.”
