La Garza has no doubts: “Reading comments like that definitely affected my mental health and eventually caused me to develop an eating disorder at an early age.” It didn’t help that the script for the series insisted on the weight and appearance of his character, who was supposed to be chubby and very different from his mother. “The whole point of my character was to prove that Eva was a beautiful slim model and she was the exact opposite of her daughter,” she reflected, recalling how Longoria did everything on set to make her feel special and Well done.
