Among the many and striking revelations that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made this Sunday about their eventful passage through the front line of the monarchical institution, of which they have spoken at length in their long-awaited interview with Oprah Winfrey, they have not overlooked the impressions that, according to Prince Harry, his ill-fated mother, Diana of Wales, would have today on account of the way in which all these events have happened.

The one who was the wife of Charles of England, heir to the throne, would be “angry and sad” with all the controversies and grievances that have marked the last four years of the Dukes of Sussex, since the constant defamation exercise that, against the former actress, have deployed the most conservative tabloids in the United Kingdom, until the decision that both made to leave the orbit of the royal house to try to start a more peaceful and quiet life on American soil. That is at least what Harry thinks, who at the same time has expressed his wish that his mother can witness his incessant search for happiness.

“I think she would be very angry at the way this has all happened, and very sad. But ultimately, all she wants is for us to be happy. I think she has seen it all come. Of course, I have felt her presence throughout this process ”, the Duke of Sussex was sincere about the role that the memory and example of Lady Di are playing in her own life path, before expressly regretting that Diana had to go through her own process of “emancipation” alone.

“My main concern is that history is repeating itself. In my case, I am very relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife next to me. I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her to go through all of this alone, all those years ago. It has been incredibly hard for us, but at least we had each other ”, confessed the grandson of Isabel II.
