Yesterday, the 2024 National Influenza Vaccination Campaign was officially launched and is expected to vaccinate 95% of the 100,000 patients in high-risk and target groups in San Juan. “The influenza vaccine is designed to reduce outcomes, sequelae, hospitalizations and mortality in patients with risk factors,” said Cecilia Clavijo, chair of the Department of Health Medicine.
The official also announced a placement schedule that will depend on doses arriving through the national immunization program. He said the first groups to be vaccinated are infants below 24 months; children between 24 months and 8 years with comorbidities; key personnel (security forces); pregnant women above 65 years; and health personnel.
People over 65 years of age who live in Greater San Juan (Capital, Rosen, Rivadavia, Santa Lucia and Chimbas) can get vaccinated at the Provincial Vaccination Center located at Avenida España 587 Norte in the capital. Meanwhile, other patients in the first group who do not live in the area will be able to get vaccinated at the hospital or health center closest to their homes.
