James is a loyal fan of the NFL and often comments on the latest developments in the football world on social media. He oversaw the Kansas City Chiefs’ unexpected 23-20 victory over the New York Jets, who played without four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers.
Patrick Mahomes’ crucial 15-yard run into the end zone sealed the Chiefs’ first down. He raised his hands and looked at the hostile fans in celebration. The NFL superstar looked like LeBron James as the Los Angeles Lakers forward celebrated the incredible feat of becoming the NBA’s all-time scoring leader.
Raising your hands in celebration when you retire is such a common way to celebrate that it’s not certain Mahomes intends to emulate James. Kansas’ electric quarterback may be having fun after a game-clinching game, but isn’t looking to replicate the basketball icon.
Regardless of motivation or style, Patrick Mahomes has every reason to celebrate. He could have been the GOAT a few games ago when he threw a pick to cornerback Michael Carter II. Fortunately, South Gardner fouled and negated Mahomes’ mistake.
Still, the Chiefs are expected to beat the Jets, who are without the injured Aaron Rodgers. They blew a 17-point lead and needed a strong performance from the entire team to stop the home team. Backup quarterback Zach Wilson nearly led New York to an upset victory over the defending Super Bowl champions.

While Patrick Mahomes is expected to be the star of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets game, Zach Wilson nearly steals the show. The young backup quarterback has stepped into the spotlight after Aaron Rodgers was sidelined with a foot injury.
Wilson’s crucial mistake late in the game may have cost the Jets the victory. Later, he told the media that it was his fault the team ended up getting the “L.”
LeBron James was quick to send Zach Wilson a message on Instagram:
“What a gamer! You win as a team and you lose as a team! 1 game doesn’t define the entire game! Keep your head high and keep going!!
“If it were easy, everyone would do it!”
The New York Jets may have lost that game, but Wilson’s toughness and accountability earned him the admiration of LeBron James.
