Digimon World is a video game by Bandai for the PlayStation, released in 1999, about the Digimon virtual pets. It was followed by several sequels released for PlayStation and other platforms. The story focuses on a human brought to File City on File Island by Jijimon to save the island. The Digimon have been losing their memories and have gone feral and the city has fallen into chaos. The player’s goal, represented by an anonymous young man, is to save the island by helping Digimon regain its memory and return to the city.
