The director of Aquaman 2, James Wan, revealed that the sequence of the film starring Jason Momoa will feature horror elements.
The original film released in 2018 was marked by the sequence with the Creatures of the Pit, which brought a stroke of terror to the DC superhero film.
James Wan was known for directing several horror films, such as Invocation of Evil 1 and 2, Supernatural 1 and 2, and the Mortal Games.
The revelation was made by the director through the DC profile on Twitter, in an audio response to a question asked by a fan.

“Just as the first film had a touch of my horror sensibility, I would say that we will have some of that in Aquaman 2, ” commented Wan. “It’s a big part of who I am and comes naturally in these types of films, especially in a film like Aquaman, in which the story takes place in underwater worlds that can be very scary. So, naturally, my love for the horror genre just means that I cling to those scenes and try to give a little more of my scary spice ”.
The director’s response is part of the disclosure for the DC fandom, an event that takes place on August 22 and will bring more news about DC films, including Aquaman 2.
Aquaman 2 opens in theaters on December 16, 2022.
